Dr. Atefeh Najafi

Atefeh holds a PhD in Biology with a focus on women’s reproductive health and fertility from the University of Saskatchewan. Prior to joining UBC as a Post-Doctoral Fellow, she contributed to research in areas related to male and female fertility preservation. This led to her being named the “wise queen of cold gametes” in her previous lab.

 

Her current research at UBC involves exploring somatic cancer driver mutations in endometriosis. She is also interested in unravelling the mysteries of endometriosis-related infertility. In her spare time, Atefeh enjoys camping, fishing, shooting, and cooking new foods.
