Post-Doctoral Analyst
EDGE Research is currently recruiting for a post-doctoral fellow to lead analysis of endometriosis projects related to (1) risk of cancer progression and (2) impact of genetic ancestry on presentation of endometriosis. The position is ON-SITE at the Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute in Vancouver BC.

Qualified applicant must have a complete PhD (or equivalent) in gynecologic cancer/endometriosis genomic, biostatistics, data science, or a related field. ​The role is dominantly dry-lab but will involve project management and interaction with staff/trainees in a wet-bench environment. Experience in a wet-lab environment is an asset.

​The applicant must have:
​

experience working with genomic (WGS, WES, targeted, duplex sequencing) data, immunohistochemical biomarkers, and clinical variables for developing survival plots and advanced predictive models
-
a record of scientific publications in high ranked peer review journals
-
ability to pro-actively lead projects
-
knowledge around female reproductive systems, chronic inflammatory syndromes, endocrinology as it relates to endometriosis and/or gynecologic cancer.

evidence of strong organizational standards
-
experience with R tools/scripting, use of GitHub for accessing/sharing analysis pipelines
-
experience with public data repositories for both extraction and deposit of research data (e.g. NCBI GEO, dbGaP)
Candidates will be expected to:
-
Clearly communicate written and spoken reports/presentations in English
-
Develop and maintain relationships with peers, mentors, faculty and hospital staff
-
Teach/supervise junior lab member (graduate students, undergraduates)
-
Compartmentalise and manage multiple project with similar data types (genomic, biomarker, clinical)
-
Travel internationally to present data at scientific conferences and with collaborating research groups (e.g. in the USA)​

Safety training certifications for work with biologicals, chemicals, WHMIS, and TCPS2 (2022 or later) prior to starting.
